Care & Maintainance
Natural materials change with use, heat and weather.
Regular care preserves the materials, function and warranty.
Exterior
The painted facade carries a durable, breathable coating made for exterior timber. It shields the wood from moisture and UV while letting it move with the seasons. Clean with water and a soft brush a few times a year. Mild soap can be used for marks and dirt. Avoid pressure washers, solvents and abrasive cleaning products. Touch up scratches and chips promptly to keep moisture out of the timber. Recoat when needed, depending on exposure.
Interior
The sauna interior is untreated. Sauna woods are chosen for low heat conduction and are never sealed, oiled or varnished. Heat and moisture require the timber to breathe and dry between sessions. Use a towel on benches to reduce absorption of sweat and body oils. After use, wipe away excess water and leave the door open until the interior is dry. Light marks can be sanded gently along the grain with fine-grit sandpaper. Do not oil, varnish or otherwise seal the interior timber. For a deeper clean, a dedicated sauna cleaner may be used occasionally
Heater
Check the sauna stones once or twice a year. Remove cracked or crumbling stones Stack the stones loosely to maintain airflow around the heating elements. Never operate the heater without the required amount of sauna stones. Keep towels and other objects clear of the heater. Installation, repair and electrical servicing must be carried out by a qualified professional.
